Branson City Hall closed on Tuesday. The board of aldermen meeting was canceled. Schools are closed. The streets are mostly empty.
In all, Branson police worked 14 wrecks Monday afternoon and night. After midnight, the wrecks stopped.
"Residents apparently heeded the advice of officials and weather forecasters and stayed off the streets," city spokesman Jerry Adams says.
Only essential personnel are working Tuesday in Branson, according to city officials. Public-works crews are clearing streets.
