Atlanta, GA 5/15/2008 02:51 PM GMT (FINDITT)
Roger Waters will be performing live in concert at the O2 Arena in London, UK on Sunday, May 18 at 8:00 pm. Waters will play again at the Arena the following night before moving on to St. Petersburg, Russia for his June 6 concert at the Palace Square.
Former frontman of the popular band Pink Floyd, George Roger Waters is an English rock musician, singer, bass guitarist, guitarist, songwriter and composer. Although he is best known for his experience with Pink Floyd, between 1965 and 1985, he has continued to establish himself in a successful solo career.
Credited as the main songwriter after the departure of Syd Barrett, Waters was also the band’s bass player and a lead vocalist with David Gilmour and, to a lesser extent, Richard Wright. He was the “lyrical and conceptual mastermind” of the band’s albums, including The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall and The Final Cut in addition to the originator of the band’s popular symbols, such as the Pink Floyd pigs.
Since Waters left the band, he has released three studio albums and held one of the largest concerts ever, The Wall Concert, in Berlin, Germany. He released Ca Ira, an opera in 2005. On July 2, Pink Floyd reunited with Waters, after 24 years, for the Live 8 concert in London.
