MUSIC fans heading to one of the most hotly-anticipated gigs ever held in Liverpool are being urged to plan their journeys in advance.
Roger Waters, co-founder and principal songwriter of Pink Floyd, will be appearing at the Echo Arena Liverpool on Thursday, drawing fans from across the region.
The show was one of the fastest-selling concerts to be held at the Arena at Kings Dock so far.
Ticket holders are being advised to plan their journeys to the venue in advance as scores of visitors to the city are expected.
Motorists are being urged to follow the signs and if ACC Liverpool’s own 1,600-space multi-storey car park is full then alternative facilities, such as the Q Park in Liver Street, are available. Both James Street Merseyrail station and Paradise Street bus station are within reasonable walking distance of the venue.
Passengers can plan their journey by going to www.merseytravel.gov.uk or contacting Merseytravel's Traveline team on 0871 200 22 33.
Tim Banfield, Echo Arena general manager said: “The Roger Waters concert sold out within a matter of hours of going on sale and there is no doubt it is one of the most hotly-anticipated shows we’ve held so far.
“We know people will be travelling from far and wide – we are asking people give themselves plenty of time and to use public transport where possible.”
