Microsoft Censors Pirate Bay Links from IM: Due to fearing that torrents linked from The Pirate Bay could spread malware, Microsoft has announced that users of its instant messaging application will no longer be able to send other users link to torrents found on The Pirate Bay. In an email sent to The Register, Microsoft backed up their decision, stating, "We block instant messages if they contain malicious or spam URLs based on intelligence algorithms, third-party sources, and/or user complaints. Pirate Bay URLs were flagged by one or more of these and were consequently blocked." [The Register]
